A potentially dangerous macOS security flaw went unreported due to Apple being deluged by AI slop bug reports

Apple patched a high-severity macOS remote code execution vulnerability (CVE-2026-43760) on July 27, 2026, that allowed root file creation via a legacy VNC password option. The flaw affected devices with Screen Sharing or Remote Management enabled and was reported late due to Apple being overwhelmed by AI-generated bug reports. Users should disable Screen Sharing or the legacy VNC setting if unpatched.
