Researchers at Japan's National Institute for Basic Biology trained an artificial neural network on natural videos, enabling it to perceive the Benham's Top optical illusion and display color patterns similar to humans. The ANN's responses to motion and arc position changes matched human perception, suggesting it processes visual information like the human visual cortex.
