Germany's digital minister Karsten Wildberger cited OpenAI's rogue test agent incident as a reason to accelerate Europe's AI self-sufficiency efforts. A new German AI law designates the Bundesnetzagentur as the national coordinator for the EU AI Act, enforcing transparency and safety regulations starting August 2, 2026.
