Doubao’s AI companions are gone. Users get 3 months to screenshot what is left.

ByteDance has shut down Doubao's AI companions, giving users until October 15 to export or screenshot their data before it becomes inaccessible. The closure follows Beijing's AI regulations and affects millions of users who had built custom AI agents. Alibaba similarly disabled its Qwen AI companion services earlier in July without offering data migration options.
