Media watchdog seeks 34.6 bln-won budget for AI transformation, fact-checking

South Korea's Korea Media and Communications Commission plans to request a 34.6 billion-won budget for 2027, a 13.2% increase from this year. The budget includes 10 billion won for AI training using broadcaster stock footage and funds for a transparency center to combat misinformation.
