A collaboration led by HHMI Janelia has produced the most detailed wiring diagram of a male fruit fly's brain and central nervous system, mapping over 166,000 neurons and 125 million synapses. This decade-long effort advances connectomics and aids neuroscience research by providing a comprehensive model for brain function and control of the body.
