AI cyclone forecasts could add 30 hours of warning time

Google DeepMind and Google Research developed WeatherNext Cyclones (WN-C), an AI system that predicts tropical cyclone paths and intensities more accurately than leading models, providing over 30 extra hours of warning time. WN-C analyzes global weather patterns and storm specifics simultaneously, improving forecasting precision and uncertainty estimates.
