A developer successfully implemented a generative AI image model on a $1 RP2350 microcontroller, generating 128×128 RGB human face images in 10–20 seconds. The model, a latent flow diffusion transformer, has 1.7 to 2.9 million parameters and supports conditional generation across five classes. It runs on limited hardware with 520 KB RAM and outputs images via VGA or USB.
