Anthropic's Claude Mythos Preview AI helped develop a key-recovery attack on the HAWK-256 post-quantum signature scheme and significantly sped up a seven-round AES-128 attack. The HAWK attack exploits a lattice symmetry, reducing runtime to about 3 hours 42 minutes on a 96-core server. These findings do not impact current production systems or standards.
