Antares, a small nuclear reactor startup founded in 2023, raised $470 million to develop reactors for US military bases by a 2028 deadline set by Executive Order 14299. Their microreactors produce up to one megawatt, aiming to enhance power resilience at military sites, distinct from larger reactors targeting AI data centers. The company recently achieved a critical milestone with its Mark-0 reactor at Idaho National Laboratory.
