Update to Google’s AI weather model improves forecast accuracy

Google has updated its AI weather model to WeatherNext 3, incorporating physical data like surface elevation and land/ocean type to improve forecast accuracy. This version shows a 5% improvement in upper atmosphere predictions and up to 30% better surface temperature accuracy, outperforming previous models and the ECMWF AI model. WeatherNext 3 is now used across Google services such as Search, Gemini, and Maps.
