WeatherNext: AI model achieves breakthrough in forecasting cyclones

Google DeepMind and partners developed WeatherNext, an AI model that improves cyclone forecasts by providing an extra day of accurate predictions, aiding timely warnings and preparations. The model's success includes aiding the National Hurricane Center's forecast of Hurricane Melissa's rapid intensification and landfall.
