OpenAI is developing Project Camellia, a large datacenter in Effingham County, Georgia, with 3.2 GW power contracted from Georgia Power between 2028-2032. The project ensures no electricity rate increases for residents, uses minimal water with a closed-loop system, and commits $80 million to local community benefits alongside significant tax contributions and job creation.
