Data centers expected to use 4x more electricity by 2035

Data centers in the U.S. are projected to consume one-fifth of the nation's electricity by 2035, quadrupling current usage due to AI compute demands. The U.S. will host the majority of AI chip power demand, straining regional grids like PJM and ERCOT, with global data center electricity demand also rising significantly.
